Sneak Into Shul This Yom Kippur

It is traditional for Jews to wear non-leather shoes on Yom Kippur. By not wearing shoes that require an animal to give up its life, we are reminding ourselves that kindness is what God wants most of us on this holiest of days. At HNT, we’re going to do this mitzvah in a special way this year. Borrowing a page from the TikTok craze, we’re going to gather together and paint our canvas sneakers lots of bright colors. Then we can wear our sneakers to shul on the Day of Atonement.

10:00 AM - Learn a hilarious, but meaningful song about Jewish walking on the high holidays.
10:15 AM - Learn the meaning of this mitzvah with Rabbi Rosenbaum
10:45 AM - Paint your canvas sneakers.
Most important of all… October 11th-12th: Sneak into shul on Yom Kippur!
